About Pocket Money Adventures

Pocket Money Adventures opens the door to Silverton: City of Speed — a modern, magical world built to grow with children as they do.

Created from Nathan’s own real-life challenges, it helps make money feel visible again through storytelling and one simple habit kids can use anywhere: Money Tap (Tap, Tap, Pause).

More than a fun read, the series bridges a real gap at school and at home — turning financial literacy into a lifelong adventure of confident choices: save some, spend some and share some if you can.

Not just a storybook

Making money visible again

Pocket Money Adventures isn’t just another storybook series. It’s a movement for good, giving families, schools, and communities a new, natural way to talk about money.

In a world of tap-to-buy and one-click payments, money can feel invisible. And when money feels invisible, it’s harder for children to connect choices with consequences.

Pocket Money Adventures brings that connection back to life. Set in a futuristic but deeply relatable world, each story explores the emotional side of money. The impulses, the pressure, the pride, and the patience behind saving, spending, and sharing (if you can).

Every character makes real choices (and real mistakes), helping young readers build brave hearts and smart habits that grow with them in an ever-changing world.

Save some, spend some, and share some if you can…

About THE AUTHOR

Meet the author: Nathan Waldron

Nathan has spent almost two decades working in financial services. He’s also a fitness enthusiast, a proud father of two, and lives in North Staffordshire.

Growing up, Nathan saw how often money conversations were treated as awkward, confusing, or simply off limits. Money felt like a mystery and too many people carried that feeling into adulthood. Those early experiences, combined with his career and what he’s learned raising his own children, inspired a different approach: a more human way to talk about money that feels hopeful, magical, and inclusive.

Nathan’s mission is to help raise a new generation of Financial Citizens. Children who learn to save some, spend some, and share some if they can, with purpose… and who grow up seeing money skills as a lifelong superpower.

That’s why Pocket Money Adventures isn’t just another book; it’s the resource I wish I’d had as a kid and the tool I wish I’d had earlier as a dad.

Ava Saves Up: The First Book in the Series

Ava Saves Up is the first adventure in Pocket Money Adventures, set in Silverton: City of Speed — where money choices are as real as the feelings behind them.

Meet Ava. She wants it all… right now.

When Ava spots something she really wants, the urge to buy it straight away is huge. But in a world of tap-to-buy and instant everything, she soon discovers that getting what you want isn’t always as simple as pressing a button.

With a little help from her mum — and a few honest mistakes along the way — Ava begins to understand the tricky gap between a quick treat today and a bigger dream tomorrow.

This story gently shows children that saving isn’t about saying no to happiness. It’s about making choices, understanding value, and discovering that “not yet” can sometimes feel even more powerful than “right now.”

Save some, spend some and share some if you can.

This first book shines a light on those crucial early steps in money confidence — and it’s only the start. Future adventures will explore spending intentionally, sharing (if you can), and earning with pride, through the eyes of characters children already know and love.

Warm, funny, and full of heart, Ava Saves Up helps children see that they can make choices about money. And as children begin to look at their money differently, many grown-ups find themselves quietly rethinking a few habits too.

If you want your child to enjoy a story and quietly build better money habits at a pace they can truly understand, this is where the journey begins… and you might be surprised who learns the biggest lesson.

The 2028 curriculum is coming. We make it easier today.

The Government has confirmed that Citizenship will become compulsory in primary schools (KS1 and KS2), with stronger expectations around financial education. The updated national curriculum is due to roll out with first teaching from September 2028.

Pocket Money Adventures gives schools a simple, KS1-first (KS2-ready) way to get ahead — without adding pressure.

WHAT IS A FINANCIAL CITIZEN?

Raising Little Citizens with Big Hearts.

A Financial Citizen is more than someone who can count coins. It’s a child who is ready for the real world — able to pause, think, and choose with confidence.

We use three simple hooks to make the learning stick:

2) The Money Rule

(Save • Spend • Share, if you can)

This is what children do after the pause — a simple decision rule they can remember anywhere:

Save some, spend some and share some if you can.

It turns money into three clear options instead of one emotional yes/no moment — and gives parents and schools a shared language that stays consistent.

1) The Money Tap

(Tap • Tap • Pause)

This is the in-the-moment pause — a tiny physical habit that helps children slow down before they decide.

How it works (repeat every time):

Trigger → Impulse → Tap, Tap, Pause → Calm thinking → Choice (need vs want)

PMA habit loop

3) The Triangle

(School • Home • Child)

Money habits stick when the same message is reinforced in three places:

School (classroom learning)

Home (everyday habits)

The Child (real-world choices)

Together, they build a Financial Citizen.
